Is Jesus just not good enough as a MEDIATOR between God and Man?
Is Jehovah running a nightclub or something? Is that why we NEED a Governing Body as a gatekeeper?
We know what a "gatekeeper" is.
You want to get into an exclusive club and a big muscle-bound jerk is standing at the door blocking your way.
You have to go through THEM or you don't get in.
What exactly is Jesus' failing at that a 2nd level mediator is necessary?

In the Wt.'s world it has now became the gatekeeper with ATM machines.
Isn't it amazing that we gained "accurate knowledge" of God then learned that he and Jesus had a big sign placed on them:

But only because they want him to.
Remember he can only be your mediator if you willingly enter the covenant he offers you in order to BE that for YOU!
( remember the Israelites and vast mixed company that told Moses they wanted to enter the covenant with Moses as mediator and agreed to what Jah asked)
So......the GB is their ONLY mediator at this point because they CHOOSE them instead of CHRIST.
In order for them to benefit and have CHRIST as their mediator they MUST enter the NEW covenant for LIFE and agree to what Jah asks.
This is done every year. And instead of partaking of this covenant, they willingly refuse it in order to have life through HIM ...
The GB can't so squat for them except make them slave for them with no valid promise.
So at this point in time, CHRIST is NOT their mediator. ( and don't they actually sorta tell us that unless your of the 144,00?)
so...it is very sad that he is failing from THEIR point of view when he doesn't have to be. They ALL can be in this covenant and ALL can be in union with CHRIST and receive Holy Spirit.

It is a good question. Gives rise to another question: Did Joe jw get stupid? This is what I remember from forty years ago. The "faithful and discrete slave" were "the little flock". We were taught this "little flock", also known as the "anontied" embraced the "144,000" [ no more than that had a heavenly hope ] and "faithful and discrete slave". Thus the "anointed", the"little flock", "faithful and discreet slave", "144,000" were one and the same. They would be in heaven to rule as "kings and priests" symbolized by the "twenty-four elders around the throne of Jehovah, Jesus being seated to the right of Jehovah. Clamoring and milling around Jehovah, Jesus and the twenty-four elders was a "great crowd" numbered in the millions who had NO heavenly hope. This "great crowd" had an earthly hope" and the privilege of being ruled over by the Great King and Priest Jesus who would be assisted by the lesser "king's and priest's" of the "little flock" aka "faithful and discrete slave" aka the "anointed" aka "twenty-four elders" aka the "144,000"..
The "great crowd" had VERY IMPORTANT work to complete in " this old system of things" [ the old world ] and in the "new system of things" [ new world ] to come. This "great crowd" was given busy work inclusive of five weekly meetings at the "kingdom hall", where they learned to be successful in the other half of their busy work, going from door to door selling books, "Bibles", magazines with the ultimate goal of recruiting and converting other's to swell the ranks of "the great crowd". All under the direction of our PARTNER "the anointed faithful and discrete slave/144,00", who received their orders through "holy spirit" from OUR MEDIATOR Christ Jesus.
No where was it ever suggested, nor was I ever taught by mouth or watchtower literature that Christ Jesus WAS NOT my mediator, or Saviour, whose blood was poured out on my behalf as a sacrifice to cover over and wash away my sins. It was to Him my prayers were addressed. He whom every second, every minute, every hour of every day advocated my worthless to the Father Jehovah God. It was understood and taught the "anointed faithful and discrete slave of 144,000", while alive on earth, were the earthly portion of Christ Jesus Kingdom.
I ask again: did Joe jw get stupid? Apparently he did as it is now taught that the gb is indeed a 2nd level mediator and the ONLY way to Jehovah God. When I was baptized at age 13 I publicly declared my fealty to Jehovah God AND Christ Jesus. Not so in this day and time. When you are baptized you make that public declaration of fealty to the "governing body" of the wtbts and through them the same to Jehovah God. Christ Jesus has been CAST aside, His Heavenly place usurped by an earthly publishing company of mortal men whose sins are as great as yours. Who advocates for them, eh? In answer to your question, as far as jw's are concerned, yes Jesus Christ is a failure since NO ONE inside the wtbts challenges them. The gb has not placed themselves in the seat of Moses. They have usurped the throne of Christ himself and within the Christian tradition have made Jesus sacrificial death for all irrelevant and worthless.
