What it the point of view of the Watcthower on transexuals, transgenders and intersex people? An article was written about it by the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, but was never published. However, several Jehovah’s Witnesses in position of authority are aware of it. For example, an individual who has changed sex and wishes to become a Jehovah’s Witness will necessarily have to return to the sexual identity he or she had at birth, although he or she will not be asked to undergo surgery again. Regarding the intersex people, the Watchtower said that there is usually a dominant sex and it does not require that they undergo surgery.

A friends of ours who is post op M -> F was studying with the witnesses. She was told told she had to use the male toilets and was in no uncertain terms being encouraged to return to the sex she born rather than the sex she is comfortable being (and she is!).

I would like to see the Watchtower article on the proper way for a hermaphrodite to have sex.

yeah, like posted above, the only stories i know of in regards to this were the JW's told the trans sexual person that they had to basicly stop it. that if you were pre op- to stay the sex you were born with, and i read instances where they were post op, they were told they had to change back to their original sex. JW's are insane.

In 1998, I sent that question the the WT about what sex life and privileges in the congregation could hermaphrodites(intersex people)get. They replied to me what I mentionned in the first post, but avoided answering the questions about sex life and privileges. If an intersex person marries a brother : is it homosexuality for that person ? and for the brother? If an intersex person marries a sister: is it homosexuality for that person ? and for the sister? Is an intersex person allowed to have special privileges since only males can get them? Of course the watchtower refused to answer that, since it may question the validity of its moral values and rules.

This topic is too complicated for black and white cult thinking. They cannot cope with or cater for a person that may not fit their perfect mold of male and famale, with man as the dominant head.

I studied with a transexual back in the 70s. There was a sizable transexual community in our territory. The Wt. said basically live celebate.

I've always been curious how they would handle a hermaphrodite getting married. Would not the potential mate be guilty of the "sin" of homosexuality no matter how you slice it?

Exactly, this is why the watchtower never published an article about it because the GB knows their answers would not be logical and would contradict their moral values. It is an impossible case for them. So why not just abandon the idea of "sins"? If the Watchtower decided that homosexuality is not a sin, then, marrying a hermaphrodite would not pose a problem.
