    Right on Terry!

Growing old in the spiritual paradise sucks. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/scandals/225268/1/Jehovahs-Witnesses-Diapers-and-Dentures

    Jehovah's Witnesses diapers and dentures.

I was born to 2nd gen JW family late 1950's growing up with minimal dental care because Jehovah was gonna give me new choppers by 1975

I am NOW PAYING for that WT cult negligence (crooked and crowded hard to floss) and still fortunate to have my own teeth i have two spots in my mouth to grind food I want to die with my own teeth in my mouth

    QUALITY OF LIFE:

    John 10:10 The thief comes only to destroy;

I have come so that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

    FREEDOM:

Luke 4: 18 He has sent me to proclaim release to the captives

and recovery of sight to the blind, to let the oppressed go free,

to proclaim the year of the Lord's favour.

    HOPE:

John 6:47 Truly I say to you, anyone who believes has

eternal life. John 3:7 So don't be surprized when I say,

    you must be born again.

More-without exaggeration most of the JW from my typical cong that i exited 1992 had their typical JW self employed cottage industries with NO retirement plan or long term health care and actually shunned putting away a nest egg as 'lacking faith in the immediacy of the end'.

No s**t.... how are they gonna live and when I post at topix about it the JW trolls deny and call me a liar they lie and shill say that they all got pension 401 K and sitting pretty.

The JW's I knew from 70's and before, have died,

or are living and have lived on welfare

and are now in senior subsidized housing.

Except some who had come from wealthy

non-witness parents, who then inherited wealth

when their parents died. These are very few, but prominent

"famous" in the KH, and they behave as if they were the

ones who earned the wealth instead of their well educated

    and hard working non-witness relatives.

The WT preaches doctrines of non-participation

in what should have been your own life,

its an atmosphere of being under threat, under

a non-existant imposed deadline and on high disaster alert

all the time. Its a belief you know "special things"

that make you separate from the world.

Family and interpersonal relationships and community

involvement and developing yourself through education

for long term living is sacrificed for "state of emergency"

thinking and fear of being rejected and isolated by the group.

Its a high stress fear and shame based way of life

and it is a disconnect from any real honesty or love.

All the "good JWs" I know from the 60s or 70s are sucking on the government. Those who inherited money gave it to the WTBTS. Most are broke. The only ones doing OK are those who IGNORED the 1975 panic, IGNORED "don't go to college", Ignored the pleas to pioneer, go to Bethel, go to Gilead, or to where the need was great.

THAT'S IT HOW RIGHT ON YOU ARE

The WTS. is a model for indulgent manipulation and exploitation when you think about it and its commercially structured to continue on

with this same inherent intent into the foreseeable future.

My parents are in this position. They are approaching their late 50s, he is a auto mechanic, my mom hasnt worked in almost 30 years. She has been a pioneer all this time. My dad is becoming sicker and more frail and that hard work is really breaking him down, no retirement, and no plan. He is still counting on the end to come in the next couple years. He should be thinking about retirement, but the WTS has stolen that from him. He was in bethel when he married my mom and they went back together, then she got pregnant with me and they came back to my hometown. He has worked as a technician ever since. Not looking good for them.. Thanks cult.

It was a badge of honor to quit college when one decides to become a JW. I knew two brothers who left college one during his last year to pioneer. Self employment with the goal to pioneer was the ideal plan for the future! Is it any wonder that JWs have the lowest income out o all the religions, a direct relationship with the lowest level of education! I remember a CO's first visit in his counsel from the "slave" he told the us, CBOE, that their/our children, that is the elders children, should follow the path of pioneering as an example for the "flock". I mean how can one cousel from the platform in encouraging the "friends" to pioneer and not go to college, and our children going off to 4 year university's. The PO at the time, a company man and lover of all things legalistic had his daughter in a 4 year university in north Carolina ..what to do....the CO didnt know this and did an about face. it was determined that as long as he didn't encourage others by highlighting his daughters success or career path all will be ok, and he was not to give any parts involving shunning higher education. To his credit he gave no apology or explanation just sat and listened. His daughter scored almost a perfect 1600 on her SATs at least her potential wasn't squandered like so many others.

I think now education for JWs is like birth control for Catholics. Ludicrous positions that the smart and independant thinking ones ignore to their benefit. The problem is and the reason that education is lacking amongst JWs is perhaps the lack of independent smart thinkers, which of course is an oxymoron in terms of a cult member.

Here is another aspect to the JW dynamic.

This religion has NOTHING to offer young people but being bored to death under surveillance and suffering the Oddball syndrome at school.

    Guess what happens next?

The young leave the Kingdom Hall as fast as they can.

    So what, you ask?

    So, this:

When the good old faithful parents get too old to take care of themselves do you think the kids are going to take them in and watch after them?

    Not likely!

The parents gave their kids grief and condemnation!

Those chickens will come home to roost.

Not a pretty outlook for long term JW's at all. Not at all!
