What struck me was how open and friendly and hospitable her new Chinese acquaintance was after only just meeting in a bookstore. No judgment. No agenda. There is NO WAY a JW would react to a stranger in that way. That level of neighbor love simply does not exist in the Witness psyche.

Probably the part that stood out the most to me, was when she did a very JW thing, on Jean mentioning a recent death, the JW tactfully and quite dishonestly said she knew how she felt, for her dad had died recently too.... The comment was loaded with a projectile aimed at discussing the ressurection.
No normal person would ever imagine that a person sat opposite them whom you have just opened your heart to, would have such motivation and intent in such a reply. JWs have NOOOOOO issue with manipulating people via emotions. They do it in such a skilled fashion after years of those silly Thursday night fake conversations shown in the ministry school (and at back of KM).
Having left the JWs for some time and after ardent effort to forget all I knew and did (actually helped by the shunning) .... I found that 'manoeuvre' by her soooooo distasteful. Yet I know I did it on the ministry so much too.
Itsa window into the insincere heart of a JW interacting with normal people, also evident is the manipulative design in the method we preached. We were encouraged to be opportunistic like a waiting pathogen, in order to spread our message.
