The only good thing about the Big Boasting Session is that it "only" wastes one day out of the weekend. You are responsible for wasting the other by going out in field circus.

it appears that the local dubs are having their 2 day assembly this weekend. We were at the grocery store last night about 7:30pm and saw the big cheese local elder and his wife. They were in meeting clothes and were only buying a box of ice cream. I am very glad that I didn't waste a beautiful Saturday sitting in a deadly dull meeting LOL

There are baptisms at the SAD, it is a one day convention and so has it.
As for the zone visit meeting, it in general is televised to all the congregations in the country, so it is not something restricted to only a few. Not far from me now, it will be held at a stadium with thousands being present, and it will be televised to thousands more.

Well, it was all about the conscience. I don't have a problem with that. Of course every thought went through the WTBTS Rube Goldberg machine. So my brain had to re-filter it. The point was made by a visiting Bethel speaker that our conscience was like a warning light on the dash of our car. We had better listen to it. We will never feel right until we listen to our conscience. Yikes!! I had better stop going to the meetings!
It was just really sad. All the people are nice. They are sincere. They just don't know the real history of the WTBT$.
I don't have my notes with me, but here is one point I have to mention.
Bethel Speaker: " We cannot understand the Bible or grasp the full import of it's message without the Slave. " Sorry, Holy Spirit, you are out of the picture. So David Splane said at the last annual meeting, " there isn't a hole in the ceiling at Bethel." He said something like that. He was basically explaining the GB's ineptitiude. " Hey dudes, we are just throwing out ideas! Trust us." So the Holy Spirit is not giving them answers, but we cannot understand God's word without them?
They also kept mentioning the " spirit directed " conscience. Yes! You must be led by God's spirit! Ok.... Romans 8:14 says, " For all who are led by God's spirit, these are God's sons." Hmmmm..
Gotta go. Maybe Konceptual99 will chime in. Oh yeah, Jehovah, Organization, GB/FDS, were the buzz words. Jesus was thrown in a couple times, and of couse mentioned at the end of prayers. The SAD was running at a deficit, of course. All the Elders went to a business meeting and evidently approved of sending a bunch of money to the Branch. The deficit was caused by having to send money to the Branch! I could never be an Elder and sit through that. I would be df'd for asking " why " a million times. The wifey had some cash for contributions that went into the " Family Fund " as I like to call it. The WTBT$ can do without my money.

Here are my unabridged notes. They prolly don't make sense but I was just noting things down looking for any major crap. Most of it was normal junk. There were a couple of interesting things.
The brother who did the first talk said that we had to be careful of what was presented in factual programmes on the blood issue. Very weird.
The DO said that we don't have lots of dos and donts, few rules and we are guided by principles. I wondered what principles it is then that would mean no brother would even dream of coming to give a talk at the assembly in a sports jacket and trousers or why no one with a beard will be used on the platform at the assembly or get asked to oversee a department on the RBC.
He also used an illustration about our conscience maturing through use. He said about what would his arm be like if it was still as it was when he was born. He then said how had it grown and answered through use, moving his right arm up and down as if he was in the famous deaf video... Very funny.
I went out during the baptism talk and feel asleep through one of the others and the WT.
