An Observation

  The Society is spiritually bankrupt.....that's what we were experiencing before we left.

  Having turned their backs on their history, changed their 'truth' and abused their followers they now cling to a

  clerical theology where numbers, be they accurate or not, have become the new truth. The numbers, financial investments, real estate and blind obedience....to the death if need be....... are the firm pillors the WTBTS stands on.

  Meanwhile JW'S are twisting in the wind at the end of a judicial rope that was fashioned over decades while we all stood watching in silence....complacent in our belief that this was the truth. We stood still as they put that rope around our necks and then slowly pulled it tight until we could barely touch the ground. Occasionally when the Society or local Elders deem it necessary...... the rope goes taut and we are lifted up and left hanging in the air choking......... powerless...waiting on Jah....to make all things right. While waiting........... the rope chokes off more of our normal human emotions and cuts the blood supply to an all ready starving brain. We are grateful when they let us stand on the ground again as we have been taught to appreciate the rope that allows us to stand erect in God's new light.

  That is consistent with Watchtower moving its footprint from high-profile Brooklyn to obscure Warwick.

  “Out of sight out of mind” is an old notion that tends to work pretty well on the broader social landscape. In a future when Jehovah’s Witnesses will have more presence online than door-to-door and when its headquarters has restricted access in some town no ones ever heard of, who’s going to care other than its relatively small number of victims?

  Watchtower is building a circumstance where it can continue to grow its already significant wealth despite its own bad deeds. How can this be? Because Watchtower calls its business “religion”.

  Watchtower acts can be predicted based on known business models, because it’s a business.

  The observation excellently fits the definition of a "parable".......to be quoted to active JWs.

  So very true, Giordano! The time was when JWs were united by their disdain for other religions. Today the animus is between congregations and between families and individuals within those congregations, even among so-called 'exemplary' Witnesses. As one friend recently observed to me, one viewed as a 'strong' JW today would have been considered a 'weak' JW 30 years ago. "Spiritually bankrupt" is an apt description of the organization overall.

  Rufus- Being 'theocratic' one year and weak the next, for a variety of reasons, was something I observed and was a victim of over 4 decades. How they cannibalize each other is something few outsiders could ever comprehend.
