But wasn’t the Insight Book published in 1988, same as this Watchtower article? However, the Revelation Climax book would also have been prepared in early 1988 for distribution at the conventions that year, and it disagrees with the Insight book. Thus, the Society prepared and published two books at the same time that disagreed with each other. The Question from Readers article does not change this.Yes, the copyright date says 1988, so it was published/printed in the early part of the year.
It must have been as the book was introduced and distributed in that years District Convention “Divine Justice” that started around the world in May of 1988 and lasted through the early months of 1989. Obviously, the Society would not have reprinted all those books just to correct it’s views on the future of the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. So they saw it necessary to publish the Questions from Readers article in the June 1st Watchtower.
As for whether they are deliberately trying to confuse people, I don't think they are. I think they simply are so confused themselves that they cannot keep their own continually flip-flopping doctrines straight themselves.
