I remember an interview of him once and he was asked why he was always having financial problems.
He was asked what he did with the $100,000 he would receive as an advance for a record and his reply was:
"I would get $100,000 as an advance, and I would buy a red convertible Corvette, $20,000 worth of cocaine, and well the rest I spent on foolishness." Lol.

The funeral was at 10 cst on CMT. Charlie Daniels, Allan Jackson, Vince gill and Wynona Jud gave great performances. Allan Jackson did a very authentic version of his signature song " He stopped loving her today" . Randy Travis was up nearly first and did a rather uninspired version of " Amazing Grace". The song " Choices" really is sad b/c it is so true, we will live and die with the choices we make.
