  They (we, at least many of us) can't, because of the way we've been formatted, and even if given the opportunity, don't want to. It's too difficult to get out of the comfort zone that the WTS has created for JW's and in any case, the realization that perhaps you've been told lies and you fell into them for a lifetime is too much to bear.

  We were all brainwashed at some stage so we must feel compassionate towards these people, especially the ones who are innocent victims such as younguns raised that way and others drawn in by promises of paradise who are so far entangled they've lost themselves...

  On the other hand, there are those who thrive in such an environment, and though they are few, the really obnoxious ones serve to push the nice ones towards the ttatt.

  I wrote a book about my prison experience and lost it in a hardrive crash about 7 years ago. Then, I started a thread on JWn where I would

  write a chapter a day. But, when I go back and read what I've written I lose interest.

  I don't think any book can go one step better than the two books Ray Franz wrote, Crisis of Conscience and In Search of Christian Freedom.

  RAYMOND FRANZ lived in the fox's den. He lived where the wolves dressed as sheep roamed the halls. He was blood-related to the oracle of Bethel, Fred Franz. He prayed in the same room with the GB. He wrote actual books and articles from the inside.

  Nobody will ever have a better vantage point from which to write the true truth about what was rotten inside the Watchtower corporation.

  I have written a book and then have re-edited it for the last 6 years over and over. It will never rival Crisis of Conscience.
