So they whittle away at the last thing left to jws - the " conscience matter" clause. They intend to take it all.

So a CLEAN conscience comes from knowing and accuragely doing God's will.

In other words you can only have a clean conscience if you do exactly what we tell you. You cannot rely on your feeling that your conscience is clear because you are mindless scum.

I think its semantics and a bunch of random crap.

    Yes but also more mind-control.

In unequivocal terms....the NEW and very CLEAR message being disseminated to elders, and down the line is this...

Even if the govening body is wrong, you doubt them, or the fact that they are imperfect means something has to be changed, going against jehovahs organization is never ok. Wrong or right, your everlasting life depends on obedience to these guys.

The idea: "Clear Conscience VS Clean Conscience" is actually somewhat of a false dilemma.

Whether your conscience was 'well-trained' or not, the goal would always be to keep a 'clear conscience,' that is, follow the dictate's of your conscience.

That said, the fact that a person's conscience did not bother them would be no proof, in itself, of being innocent. So the idea of trying to improve one's viewpoint has merit. But given the WT's two-faced history, I find this advice coming from them somewhat questionable. I'm leary of their motives in saying it.

The problem is, who decides what is a clean conscience? If you live your life by bible princiiples, you should have both a clear and a clean conscience. But the WTBTS is trying to say that is not good enough, you have to live by their interpretation what God wants. They just want to make people afraid to think for themselves.

This is the only place I can find where the WTS makes this distinction with an "explanation": But often the WTS uses the terms interchangeably.

***Love Jehovah book chap. 2 p. 18 How Can You Maintain a Good Conscience? ***

The Bible shows that having a clear conscience is not always sufficient. For example, Paul said: “I am not conscious of anything against myself. Yet by this I am not proved righteous, but he that examines me is Jehovah.” (1 Corinthians 4:4) Even those who persecute Christians, as Paul once did, may do so with a clear conscience because they think that God approves of their course. It is vital that our conscience be both clear in our eyes and clean in God’s eyes.—Acts 23:1; 2 Timothy 1:3.

Picky - Picky - Picky, Tut, tut, tut. Isn't this micro-managing?

Take an example of a Hotel Hot-Tub.

The water is clean and clear. Ah ha, you say...It now passes Watch Tower Inspections! lol

But it can still make you ill.

If a Hot-Tub is not treated correctly, you will be soaking in a mixture of not just your own feces but everyone else's too.

The point being, after you think you have a clean and clear conscience...let the record show, The Watch Tower Society does not...yet they make and change the rules for you!

So after The Governing Body has everybody brain washed with this year's 2013 version of paranoia...do you have a "clear" conscience because it is not good enough for us, it now has to be a "clean" conscience, which we say is better. And we are watching you! Huh?

What a Red Herring, Watch Tower style, this is. Talking about a straw stuck in their own eyes. lol

Which high priced JW lawyer thought this one up...to keep the rank and file, suspiciously, wasting their time, eyeing and gossiping about each other, while the real wicked ones, those who write this tripe up, along with the Legal Dept., ignore Pedophiles, ignore sick people..."What? If you don't put in 15 minutes for us each month, you will die at Armegeddon!" "Who says?" "We say!"

There is no way The Watch Tower can ever say it has a clean conscience. Read Lady Lee's topic on Molawi and Mexico. Rutherford and Hitler. Rutherford and his years of adultery. Beth Sarem. What a laughable organization, Watch Tower is!

Was the Governing Body member "Bro" Greenlees, DFed for homosexuality? No. Never. They just transferred him out of State, like the Catholics do with their degenerates. Was the new parish/congo warned? No.

Did The Watch Tower tell us, Armegeddon is "near", how many decades ago? Did they say, "Well, we've been saying it on and off for over 100 years, it's what we do to garner more book sales, and use up your life, because you are not important, only we are".

Wake up - wake up! This is mind control people!

    Just Lois...Keeping it Real.

Just more diddling that will provoke ooohs and aaahs from the vast sleeping army of dubs.

The WT pays lip service to conscience; they make reference to it, sure, but this shows what they really think.

Your conscience means little unless it tells you to do what WE think is right.

That isn't the working of conscience.

It is telling though that they repeat this idea; to me it shows that they realize they have manipulated the fellowship about conscience matters, and have to remind everyone continually that even though you might be OK with what you did, that doesn't make it right. That is not a blinding revelation, is it?

But within the congregation, conscience matters used to be called gray areas; they were things that were not of great magnitude in the scheme of things, like do I eat meat sacrificed to idols (old days), or in the modern day do I go to R rated movies, do I go to that relative's funeral even though it is in a church; things of minor importance.

The actions of Saul in persecuting Christians can't be described as matters of conscience; it is always wrong to persecute and beat people.

So the WT again is confusing and manipulating the rank and file, no big surprise.
