Are we to assume that Scotland has it's own certificate of incorporation? I ask because the term "Britain" only includes England and Wales.

What would constitute a "shenanigan"? That the government would be interested in?

What type of companies are used by other religions ?

blondie - any 'shenanighans' that involve money obtained 'immorally' albeit legally. and said money being shipped out of the country abroad to mother orgs and offshore bank accounts.

    especially now with austerity.

huge public kick back over there recently about some big firms using loophole to not 'pay tax' into the coffers, and shipping said money off to neverland.

    Starbucks is just one example.

I'm not that familiar with the RC finances, but do they send money from the UK/Britain to the Vatican in Italy?

RC does charity and good works and provides services in communities, as do many other churches organisations. which is why they get charity reg and tax break considerations.

Are these valid questions or are you just nit picking for the sake of it ?

Or maybe I am misunderstanding you.

No, not nitpicking. I live in a country that has long and strong position about not taxing religions. Mostly because it could be used by the government to control religions. A large number of the people who first came to North America, came to get the government out of their religious life. So there are many religions here that have beliefs and practices many which are not shared or approved of by all, but the freedom of religion kicks in. Attack one religion here and you will find other religions protecting not them but freedom of religion clause, interfere in one, interfere in all is possible.

Some might not think the WTS provides services that are valuable, but they have met the legal requirements. But then I don't think the RC doing "good works" offsets the still boiling situation of sexual abuse by priests, and church employees, in that organization. SNAP doesn't see that it is over.
