Interesting debate, I wasn't surprised by the result though.

Too,
Yeah not surprising. Interesting to see the leaps in logic for the beleif in God camp.

In the end there is nothing scientific about a belief in god.

Dinesh D'Sousa is so annoying its difficult to focus on what he has to say.

LOL...Yes! He has this bitterness in the tone of his voice that is so annoying. I thought the other guy in the god camp was nice to listen to though. I think him and Craig, would be force to be reckoned with for the god side. I still havn't seen someone on the Aetheist side, that approached the level of Hitchins though.

I hope they have more of these debates, they are very informative and entertaining to watch.

I prefer Science versus Harry Potter, at least then you get to realise how much of the whole Hogwarts saga is in fact "possible".
The fictional "God" figure these believers talk of exists only in their minds, and is probably very different for each believer, and entirely impossible.

I don't think Ian Hutchison was entirely honest in this debate.
He argued that there are things which are not accessible to science and therefore science can't refute god.
Its reminiscent of Gould's "Non-Overlapping Magesteria". The problem with that is theists never manage to stay on their side of the line.
Every time they pray for somebody to get better they are trespassing on the domain of science.
How could a research scientist do her work if she had to factor in what percentage of the sample population were actually cured by god?

It depends! Science can support the Bible as well.
