That's funny. At my old hall a similar request was made when we shampooed the carpets. They wanted brothers to take the chairs outside after lunch. Well a couple of sisters showed up and the PO chased them away when he saw them carrying out 2 at a time. Said they might hurt themselves. One sister was so pissed she told him that she could do this all day and HE'd probably have a heart attack if he did one more.

    Okay.....
So, HappyMan, in what language did you speak to those lovely french girls in 1972 ? If you spoke like you write, they may not have understood a word you were saying, I am afraid !

I went to collegegirl's congregation before I moved out west, and I'd have to say that that particular congregation stands as probably the most sexist one I attended in my 23 years in "the truth". Although the halls I went to growing up came pretty damn close too.

Collegegirl - move away, come out west. Or DA yourself and get out of the cult!

Well, HappyMan, if any boy or man had come up to me and said that, I would have laughed in his face and probably showed him the middle finger -- or maybe you were in Pigalle, after 10 pm... ???

I had to change that message, because I am a proper kind of woman, and would never have showed you the middle finger, HappyMan, but i certainly would have rolled my eyes in exasperation...

HappyMan, back to the top, so you can see the changes I made to my last answer to you...
I am sorry, I don't want to be rude, it's just that I can't believe you're not making all these spelling mistakes on purpose...
And I am certainly French, one hundred per cent !

JWs aren't the only ones thinking women are feeble and not able to help out, physically. There are very few women in my trade, auto technician, but the few that are there are amongst the best mechanics I have ever seen. While some may not possess the upper body strength of a man, their knowledge is second to none.

A few weeks ago, I had an intern working with me who was a 19 year oold female. Though not well experienced in the field yet, she does possess the willingness and desire to learn the trade.

Don't stand for that sexist crap, Collegegirl. If their unwilling to accept the "ladies" weilding hammers and doing more than menial tasks, who needs them?

I raised two daughters and taught them both that being female does not hold them back. Once, I even rebuilt the engine in my youngest daughters truck, with her help. She wasn't afraid to get her hands dirty. Both of my daughters today work alongside their husbands doing whatever needs done at their houses.

to everyone who said women can do just as much.... thanks! i am in no ways a feminist or anything, but i am a very capaple person, and i hate when people tell me i can't do something. it just makes me want to prove i can!

so i have to admit.... i did end up going and helping today. and let me tell you, i kicked some butt. i was in charge of painting, believe it or not. but, after we were done, i left. i didn't stick around to do my "womanly thing" and clean! :-)

DIM - don't worry... i'll be out with you guys soon enough. i miss you and mrs. dim too much, and can't take all this cult stuff much longer.....
