Where are all the Brits?

I like you American ,Aussies and other foriegners, but why are there so few British people here?
You would think with all those people leaving the org in Britian there would be more here.
Come on you Brits get on here, I want to see you posting.

I don't bother much, cos I get fed up with all the childishness and bickering that goes on here! I get enough of that from my 3 children! If I posted what I really think about some of the comments on this board then I'd probably get started on! I've read lighthearted threads that have turned into slanging matches, cos some people obviously get a thrill from being abusive. Sad! Seems a waste of time to me!

I'm Lesley's husband - she has already posted on this topic.

As some know we disassociated ourselves back in Oct 2001. At that time we both found this board extremely useful & informative & I received some much appreciated support (LittleToe - thanks mate!).

Simon - I really appreciate the fact that this board was here when we needed the info - so thanks for your hard work!

Since then I have read Crisis of Conscience which again was very helpful in getting a full perspective on the history of JWs. In addition my wife & I have had lots of deep talks about the whole area & in what direction our lives will go now. However I must say that, at least for me, adjusting to not being a JW any longer has been a much more personal, private thing (which I am still doing & expect to be doing for a long time). Hence I haven't felt too much of a need to spend hours on this site.

In addition my wife quite regularly checks the board & passes on anything useful to me.

So I am here & do post from time to time - however I am not a believer in spending all my free time posting & I must say that I think there is nothing wrong with just reading most of the time & only posting when you have something useful to add. Hence I don't actually like the word "lurker".

Well hope this makes my way of participating (occasionally) in this board known & you can now add one extra to your "Brits Counter"!

Seriously though, I agree with you, there is precious little empathy sometimes and I don't like to see good people hurt. But there are lots of kind, intelligent, witty people here too and it's worth skipping the abusive stuff to interact with them.

I just ignore the other stuff, filter it out.

Hi everyone

I do post sometimes and read a lot.
I am sure that many find that life is just too hectic even though most of us no longer go to 5 meetings a week.
I have to agree with what Steven said about adjusting to life outside the borg, it can and does take a lot of emotional and mental energy.
We have been out for about 2 years having been in for about 18 and there aren't many days without JW related discussions.
