Printing pubs costs money. Think about it. They can't possibly be making enough to cover production costs, even with the slave labour. The org is worth billions.
While this may at times cause liquidity issues, they surely are in a position to keep themselves afloat for a long time to come. They can buy and sell rel estate all they like, and do it tax free. We can't expect them to be fading off the scene because of money problems anytime soon. All they have to do is get some COs to suggest some congs' KHs are getting too old. A new property is purchased with money borrowed from the org, the debt is paid by that cong and neighbouring congs. The old hall is then sold off and proceeds go to the nearest branch.
If the hall is an older one and the title is still held by the local elder body, the branch must seize ownership of the property. The CO suggests a renovation, at a cost that is estimated at what it would cost if contractors were hired to do the job. The cong votes to take a loan out from the branch for said cost, and the title is turned over to the branch for 'security'. The building is renovated using volunteer labour, the loan is repaid by the local Dubbies, and the branch owns the title.
Seems like a very nice business plan to me!

In addition to the above they'll also start pushing elderly witnesses to bequeath real estate over to the Watchtower. Mark my words!
I know it already happens. But this time they'll step it up a few notches. Perhaps feature it in a few watchtowers and yearbooks. Not sure what angle they'll use? But does it really matter? Most are so brainwashed they'll follow anything, especially the elderly who've already devoted many decades.
Sure there'll be a few disinherited children complaining, but they'll be labeled as "apostates" if they get too vocal.

LOL DATA-DOG wouldnt surprise me at all ,however, seriously with 7 million + no , make that 20 million + including freinds relatives , hangers on etc. a potential market for purchasing books , magazines , CD `s, DVD`s , bibles etc. etc. They are a publishing agents dream.
It was reported years ago that some companys wanted to advertise in the Watchtower magazine because they saw the benefit of reaching such a wide audiance world wide ,it was declined by the society.
If you wrote a book ,made a CD , or produced a DVD , wouldnt you be over the moon knowing you had a guaranteed sale of between 7 and 20 million sales ? I know I would .

I think that when the jws do a remodel of a KH where the money is processed through the WTBTS it should be rely be classified as a leasehold improvement.
