Should Catholics leave their religion?

In the light of the recent news about child abuse scandals within the Catholic Church, would you encourage a Catholic to leave his/her religion?

In the light of the recent news about child abuse scandals (and brainwashing, murders, suicides, deaths) within the Jehovahs Witness religion, would you encourage a Jehovahs Witness to leave his/her religion?

I'd say all people should leave their religions. Sure, they may offer some false hope based upon books written thousands of years ago by people trying to explain their surroundings and may even offer the authors hopes for a better life (commonly known as prophesy) but religion has by far outlived its usefulness.

Put me down for a big YES .I think the catholic church has proven it's incompetence over several centuries .Why should anyone believe they are suddenly the "christian" religion.

The Catholics seem to to deal with their abuse issues. They pay compensation. The WTS has tried to cover stuff up. I don't think catholics have to leave over an issue like this.

I'll reveal why I asked the question: today at work, a Catholic guy who works in my office and I had a discussion about the abuse thing. I asked if his priest mentioned it at all in his church and he said no.
He added that it seems that the thinking there is to ride it out and hope that the Church inproves over the long run.
Being a jw, one might think my first instinct would be to reason with him as to why he should consider leaving, but instead I had no such desire; it seems as though he is content with his faith. It's the religion of his family, and his grand mother does not seem overly disturbed by the scandal either.
Normally, a jw would be like a shark in the water at a situation like this, ready to give a thorough witness. But, the situation in the jw organization with regard to pedophiles makes it hard for me to recommend it as a solid alternative to Catholicism.
Also, since the guy seemed relatively undisturbed by the whole thing, I figured why push it? If a person is okay with their faith, I for one have always been hesitant to try to convince them that what they believe is wrong. I am the type that does not enjoy confrontation, so perhaps that factors in too.

Probably the only true statement ever made by the Judge is that Religion is a snare and a racket. Yet, he failed to include his own. Should one leave the Catholics? Sure, why not? They have the longest and bloodiest history of all the religions. But, if they leave, where would they go to? All the others are just about as bad. I don't see any particular religion being called for in the Bible.

One thing that really irritated me about the Catholics, is when I visited the Vatican years ago, all the riches I saw amassed there and the splendor they lived by, yet there are so many Catholics worldwide who go hungry and are very poor. I don't believe any church should be so rich in material wealth and have hungry followers. That is one reason I don't care for any religion today.

If God's Spirit is filling a Kingdom Hall, how is it that Satan can manuever the ones within that Kingdom Hall at the same time?

From a christian viewpoint....YES!
Christianity does not teach....infant baptism,praise to Mary, ritualistics having any meaning, HIEARCHY, cultype demanding of specified doctrine, birth control,confession........

It's easy to see from the WORD, these things are not kosher, yet out of family tradition, or fear of quiting because of rebuttle from family and friends....many remain. (Much like the Dubs)
