*sigh* - the items on list are all on Snopes (the Urban Legend reference page).
Pretty much every last item on it is false. (Got to www.snopes.com and visit the 'Cokelore' page).

XANDER I can't speak for the other items, but these are all true. Any "Domestic Goddess" can tell you that.
As far as the Coke and meat thing, you can also cook it that way in a crockpot.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl
and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric
acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous china.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper
with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in
Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of
Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola
to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking
pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham
is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the
Coke for a sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load
of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The
Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from
your windshield.
Visit here for the water items:

In fact, here is an interesting quote:
One liter is the equivalent of about four 8-ounce glasses. According to most estimates, that's roughly the amount of water most Americans get in solid food. In short, though doctors don't recommend it, many of us could cover our bare-minimum daily water needs without drinking anything during the day.

LDH - read the site.
Some of those items are *technically* true - but, in practice, water would be more effective in each case.
The acid content in coke is FAR too diluted to have any effect.
Quote:
In response, Coca-Cola's head chemist, Orville May, testified that McCay offered a "distorted picture" intended to frighten unsuspecting consumers. May pointed out that the .055 percent level of phosphoric acid was far below the 1.09 percent acid content of an orange and that McCay's studies ignored the neutralizing effect of saliva.

Does diet coke have same industrial strength properties? How about caffeine free?????
Frankly, I always believed that God gave us water to wash in. So I like to follow His will and save water for washing.
He also gave grapes for eating or making a good shiraz. I'll stick to that.

Hi,
My mother-in-law lived with a coke nearby and she was 90 when she died. Her husband lived with a beer and he died at 92. Take your choice!
