I don't think that the older ones ever will, or as Steve says above, that it would do them any good. The younger ones I guess will stay in to please parents and for the social life even if they have already woken up, or do in the near future.
After the July 15 WT is studied, any still in will remain in, either because they believe whatever B.S is fed them, or because they are faking it.
Either way, there is little hope that any of my relatives will leave.
Of those that remain in the cult, I think there is hope for my Niece / Nephews, but as for those of my generation and older - not a chance.

Even the ones that know it's BS don't want to put in the effort to start a new life. The freedom doesn't mean that much to them I think.

I'm not sure even how to contact my friends. I call an old friend from an old congregation every now and then, but I haven't called him because I'm not sure what the gossip mill has brought to that congregation.
I'm not sure how to approach my JW friends. They certainly haven't contacted me since I quit 2 months ago.

The only relatives I have that are alive and still in are some aunts, an uncle, and some cousins. I have had little contact with them in the last 40 years. And NO contact in the last 4 years. I doubt very seriously that they will ever leave. And it really doesn't matter to me what they do. Although, I do think they are absolute fools and it is sad that my family ever got involved with this cult.
I have (had?) some dear friends I would love to see understand TTATT. My dear friends are sincere, genuine people (probably with conditional love though).
My stuck up sister though, lol, who has never put on a "new personality", I am thrilled she does not know TTATT. It gives me a laugh that she does her Monday service aka gossip session, with her "kind" of people. She and her husband go to the Hall early...to be admired. They are both so full of themselves. They are in it totally for admiration, social position, and like to peer down at the lowly ones, to make themselves feel better. They are both great with abusive put downs and feel superior as God's chosen people. lol With their personalities, they honestly couldn't make it in the everyday normal world.
The past few months I have been trying to wake a childhood friend up. Total waste of my time. She will die, thinking she is going to wake up in paradise. Plus, she still believes Armageddon is eminent. Her mother, who was like a 2nd mom to me, sold her house so her late husband could be an Elder and pioneer. Husband is now dead, house money gone. Mother and divorced daughter are together now, and just getting by. They have each put 100 % trust in what the Elders and the GB tell them. There is nothing more I can do. They will not listen to reason.

I am never giving up on my daughter. She was raised in and her husband basically was also. They are both college educated though and they have been educated about ttatt. I am confident that with much more bs from the society or just one other close friend or family member leaving and she will have to face the facts. I have seen that they are in for social reasons and fear. Sooner or later, that is going to get old.
My sister and I left and we were in our late fifties after having been raised in...Shocked everyone. There is hope for your loved ones.
