But in the bible only those under 20 lived to march into the Promised Land. Everyone else except Joshua and Caleb and a few others died and did not enter.

(Numbers 32:10-14) 10 Consequently Jehovah’s anger blazed on that day so that he swore, saying, 11 ‘The men who came up out of Egypt from twenty years old upward will not see the soil of which I have sworn to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, because they have not followed me wholly, 12 except Ca′leb the son of Je·phun′neh the Ken′iz·zite and Joshua the son of Nun, because they have followed Jehovah wholly.’ 13 So Jehovah’s anger blazed against Israel and he made them wander about in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that was doing evil in the eyes of Jehovah came to their end. 14. . .

I will be going this July, and may attend next year, but that is it. If I cant wake up my wife by then, I am ready to just let the chips fall where they may. I cant waste anymore of my life in this cult. Even if she was to leave me, thats fine. I am only 25 and I have my life ahead of me as heartbreaking as it may be. Gotta rip off the bandage at some point. Will it hurt??,, sure but if I dont do it I will rot away so to speak.

I wish for the best and truly do expect the worst.

The reason 2012 isnt my last because I just want to watch them try to get out of 1914 it has been somewhat entertaining.

You can almost the strain coming off the podium when ever they have to say 1914. Which sometimes is quite often I almost want to make a drinking game out of it but I have to drive home.

Drink on 1914, lick salt on faithful slave.

BU2B - buy the old books on eBay. Harp of god, studies in scriptures and the like. It seems to be reaching my sister.

I suspect a lot of JW's have just about had enough and are making secret deals with themselves like this with 2014 around the corner and still no end in sight of this old system of things. They are getting sick and tired of hearing how close the end is all their lives. I know I used to when I started to feel disaffected by it all. I would say 'when i turn such and such an age' or 'if the end doesn't come by such and such a date' then I'll stop going to so many meetings, or only do the bare minimum, take a year off, etc etc.

Yadda Yadda every time I go now I can see it in their eyes. They are tired, they are just doing it becuase they are told to and I think a good chunk have it in their mind one more year and it must be over. I want to see them when it is clear that it isn't over and will never be over.

Scotoma I second that don't give them ideas.

I promise that my very last, final, no more ever again, ever, I-mean-it-this-time DC will be 2033 when I'll be 80 in the shade. After that, no more, ever, I'll never darken a JW convention again. This time, Fkrs, it's goodbye...maybe.

Even before my fade I missed the D.C. Nobody noticed, the family and the local JW's just assumed we were there somewhere. So anyone worried about missing a DC or fifty, don't, they cannot prove you weren't there, let 'em assume you were and enjoy a Dubfree weekend !

My last one was one day of 2001--beyond that, nothing.
