    Fred,
Hmm, wow. You know me. You're special. How?
Ever heard "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder?" Well, if you're a gay guy you probably don't think she's so great.
BTW, the joke about hats, that's damn funny. Maybe you could go out to Gaymart and buy a new one?

    Well Joel,

All I can say is, "QUE SERA SERA!"

Don't you like Bette Midler and Barbra Streisand better? Or is that too stereotypical?

    Barbara leaves me bored.

But if I said I didn't like Bette, they'd take away
    my man hat forever.

And you would have to add Cher and Judy to make it
    a perfect quartet.

    Sigh

    Joel, you said

And you would have to add Cher and Judy to make it a perfect quartet.

    I didn't know you liked 4-somes!!

Which Judy do you mean? Oh, duh -- you must mean Judy Garland. She's one of my absolute faves (see -- something good CAN come out of Minnesota!!).

To me its so odd how the love of Judy Garland is almost universal among gay men. So much so that gay men were once called Friends of Dorothy (as in Wizard of Oz Dorothy).

Indeed, the week of Judy's death, June 22 - 29, 1969 marked the Stonewall Riots in Greenwich Village and thus the beginning of the Gay Rights movement of our time. The Greenwich Village drag queens were extremely upset by Judy's death and when the police came to the Stonewall Inn on Christopher Street to harass them and arrest them that night, they, in their already angry mood, decided to fight back, thus changing history for homosexual men forever.

Just one unusual micropoint about life in our universe.

    take care

Interesting facts, Joel. How do you feel about Barry Manilow? Do gay men like male performers the same as they have their "special" female ones? (I love Barry by the way...: ) He & Bette were tight for a long time, if I recall correctly!

I don't know of any Male singers who have universal appeal to gay men quite like Cher, Madonna, Judy Garland, Barbara Streisand, Bette Midler and even Karen Carpenter.

Maybe its because females sing love songs to men.

    Thats just a guess.

    hugs

... while we're on the topic, Joel, do you watch the show "Will & Grace"? I think it's hysterical (maybe you think I have a dumb sense of humor... :) Speaking of Cher... she played herself on an episode a while back... PRICELESS! (One of the main characters is obsessed with her... and he carries around a Cher doll) Did you happen to catch it? Anyway... an article I read somewhere said this show is written by 2 gay friends (lovers?) and it was very "groundbreaking".
