racism is alive in most all religions. religion since inception has been about dividing the masses. my god VS. ur god. it is all about keeping you distracted from REAL issues. not that racisim is minor but it is fading fast. now all americans hate the moslams or the gays. weather its blacks v white- straight v gay- catholic v protestant, there will always be an us v them. and religion will be involved in most of it.

"...Some were invited in the latter part of Rutherford’s reign, but were always assigned to menial positions..." Quendi Hi Quendi,
I want to let you know that a few years go, I visited Peterson in New York. I had a guided tour of the facility by male brother. Believe me, I was profoundly shocked to see some subtle racism at work. About five to eight smilling young African American males were ironing clothes in the loundry room. It was as if their assigned department. All were wearing ties but no suits. The room had no AC and was hot inside. These people had fake smiles. Yes, that was example of menial jobs black people are assigned to.

Heard first-hand overt racist comments by several elders and m.s of a Hispanic congregation during a dinner that seemed to have been organized for me. Out of nowhere someone said that blacks were "not hard working people"--they actually put in different words. Promptly others echoed the comment. I was quite taken aback by the comments of these "spiritual" leaders. I was invited to this dinner because the body of elders was trying to get dirt on one elder that was not popular in the Body of Elders. This zealous, but unpopular elder had previously given me a book study and the other elders thought they could get something on the elder from me. It backfired because I wrote a letter to the Watchtower, and among other things, I wrote the racist comments that I had heard from the elders and m.s. Two months later a black elder who had learned Spanish was transferred to that congregation. He didn't stay for long, but I strongly believed that my letter caused the transfer of that elder.
The elder who gave me the study was in the end demoted and stayed "out of service" for several years.

Up until recently we had separate Aboriginal congregations in Australia. Also, remember the wt articles on marriage showing couples washing the dishes, praying together etc? It was mostly Asian couples washing dishes. Also, until very recently I never saw a black/white couple, and the Asian/white couples shown always had the woman as the Asian.

never a jw You might have tried to do something and I want to give you a pat on the shoulder. Unfortunately, the Watchtower is the embodiment of overt and covert racism. Its the enabler of these men and indirectly encourages them to behave that way. The watchtower know very well that these men compared to other churches, work for free and therefore, should be treated with kid gloves. Iam so grateful that since moving out of this enslaving organisation, I have learnt alot. Indeed, knowledge of power and power liberates.

Dont forget the WT 10-1-1900 Rev. William Draper, once black, is now white in answer to prayer and WT 7-15-1902 White people living in China eventually produce Chinese offspring--without intermarrying -- due to the infloence of soil and climate. REALLY?

I guess it really depends on what area of the United States you are in because I am not seeing any of those issues here where I am and I am in a so-called "mixed marriage". At least no more than the general population I guess.
