They would not recognise truth if it bit them on the arse, so they can never "have" the Truth.

Once a person has the Truth, he or she is no longer a JW.

WE have found the truth thanks to the WTB&TS , all of us ( or nearly all ) on this board have been on a journey to find our truth and have been encouraged by the fact we have found ,an untruth, which has helped us on our journey to find the truth. And that is :

The simple truth ,and fact is, that Jehovahs Witnesses have never ever got anything right in their 120+ years of history on this planet.

So the untruth has to be all the false reasonings / failed expectations /false prophecying /claiming to speak in jehovahs name and not getting anything right /false prophets ? walking around for 120 + years preaching your message only to have that same message changed every 10, 20 30 years away ? Because of new interpretations of scripture that was supposedly given by God in the first place ?

If Charles Taze Russel was chosen by God / Jesus why couldnt the supreme God of the universe the almighty given him C.T.R. the ultimate truths in the first place ,instead of giving the organization ridiculous things they had to keep changing from time to time.

Nice idea, but the question is moot to clever JWs, because they will quickly admit that JW's or the Bible Students have never had everything correct just the main things, ie, no trinity, no immortal soul, no hell, etc. They'll say they've always had a very basic framework of those truths right from the get go, but other stuff around the edges has been false and been corrected, etc, etc, blah blah blah.

I guess the Society sometimes forgets its own explanations. It gets a dose of its own medicine.

To give them a benefit of a doubt, let us assume there was some grain of truth in "some of their teachings in the past", say the late 1800's to early 1900's. Perhaps, they have not understood everything yet they may have already unearthed certain points about the truth. In that case, as we all stand at this time of the year 2013, WT beliefs then can be regarded as mere "work in process". Any product which is a work in process can never be considered as a finished product, let alone a much improved product.

During the days when Isreal was the chosen nation, God's servants Abraham, Moses, Joseph and prophets like Isaiah, Jeremiah and Ezekiel evidently enjoyed God's approval. They had faith in Him. While they had no complete understanding of everything of Jehovah God's plans for them, they had unquestionable faith, particularly Abraham. Question is: Do these servants have complete understanding of the truth as detailed as it is now in our time? No. But can we safely say they were in the truth or had a reasonable understanding about God's truth at their time? The answer could be YES. Why? Because the Almighty God has guided them to declare warnings, made them prophesy correctly about the things to come.

Now let us compare these servants to the Watch Tower Society, specifically its Governing Body. They have declared time and again that Jehovah's Witnesses has the TRUTH. While they have teachings that they have defended well and sounded logically, their adjustments in understanding of various scriptures bordering between interpretation and prophesy are the ones haunting them. With a number of failed expectations and changes in dates where a particular prophesy was expected to be fulfilled, they have exposed themselves and have indeed become vulnerable.

By comparing the credentials and integrity of prophets in the past with the WT leaders, one does not need to have a degree to surmise that there is something wrong with the way the WT has interpreted events and made some virtual if not covert predictions. Add to these, doctrines that cannot stand heavy scrutiny, e.g. 144, 000, annointed class, limited memorial partakers, etc. If the WT has divine backing just like God's prophets of old who prophesied with unfailing integrity, why is He going to allow them to constantly adjust their understanding, get the interpretation wrong, and make assumptions which can just be amended at some future time? With all these inconsistencies, I cannot discern why they still have all the guts to claim they teach only the TRUTH, singling out themselves as the only organization to posses the truth - the true religion.

Please shake my head and tell me they have the same credibility and integrity as God's servants in the past. To simplify, why boldly explain something from the Scripture when the understanding is not yet final? Why interpret a scripture and teach to Jehovah's Witnesses doctrinal matters that have no ABSOLUTE TRUTH and have the prospects of being revised? And if they have gotten it wrong which was the exact opposite of what faithful servants of God had accomplished - PREDICT events that would happen with ABSOLUTE CERTAINITY - wouldn't the Society be just gloating? Where is the HUMILITY to accept the shortcomings boldly without any alibis or sugar-coating?

It is worth reiterating again that if something is a work in process (WIP), it cannot be considered as a finished product. It would always remain a WIP unless it is finished - that simple. And the WT cannot and should not find all means necessary to regard something as the TRUTH - when in fact - that "thing" cannot be explained with absolute certainity, with no possibility of error. The truth has no ifs and buts. It can never change.

Hope the points raised will be helpful dear friends and visitors.

No religion has the market cornered on "TRUTH".

Thanks all. It's just a point to counter a JW.

No religion has the market cornered on "TRUTH".

All are welcome to their opinion. I would leave out "the market cornered on" and leave it with No religion has "TRUTH".
