I see a fiery hell as just another tool religions use to exploit their followers. Mainstream does it by scaring the beejeezies out of their follower of burning their forever. The Watchtower does it by threatening everlasting cutting off, while many still have fearful thoughts of a burning hell left in the back of their mind from former religions.

No, I believe when we die, we die. Whether or not there is a resurrection remains to be seen. So far, I have never met anyone who has came back.

If God's Spirit is filling a Kingdom Hall, how is it that Satan can manuever the ones within that Kingdom Hall at the same time?

    Absolutly not.

Hell is a fear and control tactic used by many organized religions to keep the rank and file in line.

It is only a myth at best.

Yep, I sure do believe in it. I believe it as much as I believe that those flying chipmunks outside my window really are government experiments to take control of my printer. Those bastards.....
In a way though, I do wish that there really was a hell. From what I've heard alot of the people there sound like they'd be a blast to hang around with forever.

I started thinking about hell as the thing to keep other christians in and then I realized thatWe as JWs used the end of the system in the same way as hell is used.

My fiance' believes she was Calamity Jane in her past life she says she feels so at home in Deadwood, South Dakata or Montanna. The older the old west isd the more at home she feels.

I am starting to think about the recarnation aspect of life...she claimes that is why the human race as advance mentally because with erach cycle of reincarnation the intelligence of the past generation is passed on to the new born because they have lived in the past and their intellec continues to increase.

    Target,

    Happy to oblige.

My little teacup chi is 10 weeks old. His name is Nacho.

I got him when he was 6 weeks old as an early birthday present. We are getting along famously. He is very smart and mature for his age in my opinion compared to other pups I've had his age.

The photo you see is not my pup but looks almost just like him. Mine is fawn in color.
When he sleeps he looks like a premi deer.

It is so fun to see something so tiny thinking it’s so tuff.

I have gone insane cooking doggy treats etc.
    My poor hubby is jealous.
I had to bake him chocolate chip cookies tonight to pacify him.

    To Dantheman:

I did what you're doing after I got out of the Borg. May I please suggest you investigate the Episcopal Church? Especially a fairly liberal congregation (and compared to the Borg, they ALL are). And their communion wine is the best of them all. They always use the GOOD STUFF.

I enjoyed my association, through my girlfriend, with the people of that church. I never joined because I have been so thoroughly turned off by organized religion I maY never be able to join another church. And if I do, it will be for social reasons, not spiritual. And I'll never agree ever again to be "obedient" to ANY organized teaching.

Also the Society of Friends was pretty good, too. I mean, with them, if you want to believe that Jesus was a small furry creature with large eyes who whispered truth into people's ears while sitting on their shoulders, that's OK with them.

    Good Luck.

Is it just a coincidence that the biblical references to torment after death occur mostly in the writings of the Greek hellenistic era, could some greek influence have crept into the late OT and New Testament writings? To use languege like ,'there is where the weeping and gnashing of teeth,'and,'their torment will go on day and night forever and ever' to mean in a figurative way ,eternal unconsciece annailation, seems a little strange,so it seems like the torment idea could well be what he writers meant, but I think it is possibly just popular tradition of the time.
