Hi Wizzstick, I am one of the friends from the north. The same process happened for me. The way they look you in the eye and test your gullibility to breaking point is just too much to carry.

I think the most distressing aspect is the dishonesty constantly evidenced. I was just loooking at the Hitler reference in the apostate talks in the upcoming DC. The speaker refers to apostates claiming that the society supported Hitler (gasps of shocked horror from those in the audience awake and actually listening). A brief refresher from JW facts, and the 1998 Awake reveal that they should have kept their mouths shut. The original appeasement by Joe was bad enough but to throw that in the face of apostates and accuse them of inventing lies by lying or at least grossly misrepresentation is unforgivable.

A lot of witnesses say, "well that used to happen but it wouldn't be allowed now". These lies are current and gross. Shame on them.

Welcome. Your story is very similar to mine, just I was lucky enough to beat you out by a few years and, having gotten over the first few rough years of being d/f, now enjoy an amazing life free from all the JW nuttery.

Reasoning from JW Facts (there's a book title in there!) I've used on two friends over e-mail and whilst it's early days it's made them think. The early ex-JW sites were so poorly made and frankly nutty, that any JW (including myself) that came across them would likely switch off and agree that these apostates were crazy indeed.

I can totally relate. The beginning of the end was that 1995 generation change and especially the way they casually handled it.

The overlap change was truly laughable and IMO was the Koolaid being poured. How anyone with half a mind could accept that!

Most of the ones left aren't deep thinkers and have only been in it for the social benefits all along.
