I'm afraid oncology isn't my forté. I work mostly Maternal-Newborn Care and Well Baby Nursery (Level 3), and occasionally in Antepartum and Gynaecology Post-Op.
According to the news reports, the girl in Calgary has the acute form of myeloid leukemia. It was apparently discovered with routine blood tests when she went to the doctor for what seemed to be a minor complaint.
