I really don't think there is much of a precedent here.
The courts (two decisions) were following what the Canadian Supreme Court and the Alberta statutes also stated. The mothers actions were and still are also very disgusting.
BTW - there are lots of ways this can be appealed and can easily end up at the supreme court. This is not over yet.
The most important news is that this young girl is still alive and the cancer is in remission.

It will be nice for her to see the day when WT policy changes. She will realize that although both parents loved her, one loved the WT more than her life and was willing to sacrifice her for an ever changing policy. One day she will realize the extent of her father's love and when it all clicks for her, that will be the moment she realizes what sort of 'religion' she is in.
