I was just trying to reach the end of the internet and found a great database of DMCA filings over at chillingeffects.org.

The society's lawyers look like they have been busy lately.

Some of them are pretty enlightening. There are a couple apps in Google marketplace that were poaching off JW.org.

They look like ones that would be made by a well meaning witness. Just imagine their reaction when they got the "cease and desist" notice and saw it came from the Borg.

Sorry if people were aware of this site already. I searched and found just one reference from 9 years ago.

Never heard of it. I know that rogue dubs like to make stupid apps, like service time charts and all manner of dumb stuff..

One was charging "the brothers" $1.99 to have the NWT in an app.

interesting, I never thought to check the play store for watchtower apps, there are a few on there with several thousand downloads ... I imagine it doesn't make corporate happy that somebody is making a buck on apps for jw's when donations to the org are down

I've visited websites from the ads that support this forum. Remember there was actually a board game. Fundamentally, I am ashamed of myself. I could have made better WT holders, WT highlighters, calendars, book bags. There is an abundance of JW junk. It is tacky but I am very curious to know how much money they make.

Bethel could make money selling its own cheap gizmos. They already do.

I bought Jehovah's Witness themed cards, diaries, notebook, pens and magazine holders plus a very expensive leather cover for my reference bible from a company on the internet.

Most in my cong used them especially the combo pen/highlighter with the years text on it and the diary as it had the ministry school and service meeting schedule in it and a field service notes section too.

I am surprised the society didn't make them and sell these kind of items themselves or close him down. I don't see that an app is any different.
