I was just remembering some JW's I was especially fond of who left the borg when I was active. In my sincere Dubbiness, I called or went to see them to beg them to reconsider because I loved them so much. (I didn't want them to become bird food) I literally cried for them. It's been years since i have been to a meeting- crickets. Nothing! I know I should be glad I/we are not being harrassed to return.......yet...... bummer nobody misses me.

My ex husband and I did this with quite a few of our friends in the organization. We loved them and really meant well. I do hear you, though. I didn't get phone calls nor visits during my absence.

loosingit, You said "during your absence" Does that mean you are attending again? Or do you mean since you have left no one has tried to drag you back?

It sounds like you took the parts about "brotherly love" and caring about "lost sheep" quite seriously. It sounds like others in your old hall are too self-absorbed, busy or distracted to do the same. It says more about them than it does about you.

You can decide your own personal reaction to all of that apathy. A third choice [in addition to happy or insulted] would be to show apathy in kind as regards the dubs.

Caliber, I see. If the world (TM) leaves you broken and bleeding and you decide to grovel enough, you might be extended a welcomeback at the KH. however, If the carnage is caused by THEM too bad . You must "not have been of our sort". Hey, they might actually be right about that!

Gopher, I like your third reaction. Actually, indifference is mostly what I feel until family situations arise that severly impact us. Then all bets are off!

Well that's about it.... to admitt any fault by "God's organization" would be too much to accept

Makes me think about another point.. I was once counseled for doing a one time job in a church. I told them at that time

that I beleived there was a difference between incidental work and actually work for a regular pay check from the church.

One elder said to me "So you think you're smarter than GB "

This was years ago , a few years ago now, the idea of working in the church is a conscience matter. So I took it upon myself to remind
