It's worth getting Strong's Concordance because of the Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries in the back. But you'll need to have a KJV just to look words up in Strong's. So you would go from whatever your primary translation is to the KJV to Strong's. There are also older Hebrew and Greek lexicons that have been keyed to Strong's, using the same numbering system as Strong did for his dictionaries.

Then, of course, there’s research/study online. Here’s some of the places I’ve used:
The Bible Gateway
http://bible.gospelcom.net/The NIV online
http://bible.gospelcom.net/bible?version=NIV&passage=allBlue Letter Bible
http://www.blueletterbible.org/Bible Study Tools
http://www.biblestudytools.net/A list of all the bibles produced during the 20th Century (including the NW Transl.)
http://www.bible-researcher.com/versbib10.htmlI forget which one, but one (some?) of these sites let you look up a scripture or passage and view it from several translations at the same time.

I'd go a sharp RSV (uncommented) including the 'deuterocanonical' texts.
