If there's one scripture that defines the entire purpose of a Jehovah's Witness's existence, it's Matthew 24:14. "This good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come."
This is the entire purpose of going door to door. Jehovah's Witnesses WANT Armageddon to come so this wicked system of things is destroyed. Unfortunately, there are people who do NOT want this good news to reach all ends of the earth. This includes the Watchtower Society itself.
I was looking at Terry's thread about the Quotes website. It was a great website that showed quotes from the Watchtower's vehicles for distributing the good news of the kingdom. The internet reaches the far ends of the earth in seconds. The Watchtower Society threatened the website owner with a lawsuit, forcing him to take it down.
Last week, I was watching the Watchtower Society's released "The Prodigal Son" because someone put it onto Youtube. The video already had over 9000 views when I began watching it. The Watchtower Society contacted Youtube to have it taken down due to copyright infringement. Unfortunately, I had not reached the end of the video and did not recieve the entire life-saving message that they were trying to convey in the video.
They are slowing down the preaching work and delaying Armageddon by pulling their life-saving work off the internet. Why are they doing this? Wouldn't putting the information onto the internet actually be contributing to the preaching work? I know they have two websites, but not everybody is going to go on the internet and punch in www.watchtower.org. They're going to become aware of the life-saving work by stumbling onto it by accident, much like when an interested one finds an Awake! magazine at the doctor's office, a tract on the ground, or a Watchtower at the laundromat. Shouldn't the life-saving message be spread around on as many websites as possible?
Watchtower, why are you slowing down the preaching work? Why???
