Why does an Omni... God need Jesus and the 144,000 co-rulers?

At the thread about Jaracz Steve2 made the following interesting comment.

By now, Ted should be finding his heavenly posting a routinized bore: 4 years and still counting. He will have chaffed at the notion that all decisions are made by Jehovah God who consults no one and who brooks no questioning or independent thinking. Yes, Ted you will feel well and truly like one of the rank and file who endured long years of your defiant decision-making.

It made me wonder what the purpose of the 144,000 in heaven is. If Jehovah is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving and so forth, then it is not as if the 144,000 will consult to him. The Watchtower has made claims that the 144,000 will be able to provide a human perspective, but an omniscient God already knows all they have to impart. I don't even think they will be used to communicate with the earth, since that is the role of angels.

The whole role of the 144,000 as kings and priests in heaven seems redundant.

Its kind of like those old monster movies where the monster says with a stone look 'Yes Master'.

    Nice payback for Ted

    Here is another question.

If being omniscient means he is all knowing, and he can see the future when he wants to... Then why the need to let Satan and any demons if his interfere for 6000 yrs? If its a foregone conclusion that Satan is wrong and all creation needs god, then he could have killed Satan if he is omnipotent. He then could easily have wiped Satans existence from the minds of all spirit creatures. If he cares so much about us, then why let us suffer? It was needless for an omni... god. Of course the standard line of a thousand yrs being a day and it's really not that long is used. But, tell that to a child who is born into slavery and suffers its entire life.

God needs co rulers is just an excuse for frauds to claim they are the special ones and you better listen to them because god says so. This trick has been used for thousands of years by kings and queens all over the earth.

Jehovah will probably just have a lot to do after Armageddon, you know with Satan and the Demons and the abyss and all.

And he is getting older, so he probably will not want to work as hard as he use to. If he can a get few helpers in, say 144000, he will be able to concentrate on enjoying his time.

Maybe some travel, see the universe, enjoy the grand kids, you know, normal stuff.

    To answer Comatose's question:

The argument the WT use is that Satan's challenge was basically saying "God is a bad Parent".

So, God allowed the most Evil person ever to exist, Satan, to "Parent" the Human family for over six thosand years, proving that.........

WHOOPS ! Proving that God is the most awful of parents, what loving parent would put generations of their children through all that pain and suffering, in an attempt to prove that they were a good parent ?

I believe the answer to your question goes a little something like this:

When Adam & Eve sinned and became "imperfect" Jehovah washed his hands of creation. He refuses to get involved until it has been restored to perfection. So he has handed everything off to his son to repair thing as he is above dealing with imperfection.

The 144,000 are Jehovah's way of giving Satan the finger. Satan wanted to be worshipped by creation. Now, 144,000 humans will be raised above the level of Satan and be used to destroy him.

Ah, but thruthbeknown... He didnt wash his hands of them. He caused a flood to wipe them off the earth, then 130 years or so after that, he confused their languages to make their life hard and create prejudice and racism, then he chose a nomadic and barbaric people and helped them murder their way to a promised land, then he he had prophets and kings, he orchestrated the collapse of his people to teach them a lesson, then he empowered his people when they said sorry, then this cycle repeated a few more times and on and on.

The finger to Satan would have been not indulging his petulent little temper tantrum and instead zapping him. If god is omniscient, which is what this thread is about, then he knows everything. He made us as WT so often likes to point out. No one knows us better as they point out. So why the need for a human perspective in heaven? It's dumb.

2 + 2 = 5 - And he is getting older, so he probably will not want to work as hard as he use to.

I agree with the other comments, as the sovereignty issue was the first Watchtower doctrine that I seriously questioned. Why would anyone listen to Satan over Jehovah. Jehovah had every right to destroy Satan, and no one could have rightfully questioned that action. Or as Comatose said, " He then could easily have wiped Satans existence from the minds of all spirit creatures. "

It also contradicts the story of the potter and the clay.

Jeremiah 18:5 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 6 "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the LORD. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel. 7 If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, 8 and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned. 9 And if at another time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be built up and planted, 10 and if it does evil in my sight and does not obey me, then I will reconsider the good I had intended to do for it.
