Not necessarily 'favorite', since I take that word to mean fondness for a thing, or something that's pleasing to recall. I just can't relate the word 'favorite' to anything wt!
Two instances of the wt's deceptive mis-translation in their nwt that irritate me most are:
1. Romans: all of chapters 9 & 10 - all talking about Jesus being Messiah and "Lord"; reference to Isaiah is about Jesus as 'the stumbling stone' put in place by God. It couldn't be more plain in the context that it's all about Jesus.
In an obvious deviation away from Christ, a nwt reader is mislead towards the org. --- KIT Romans 9:33b - Greek: and the (one) believing upon him will not be made ashamed.
nwt: but he that rests his faith on it will not come to disappointment.
Jesus is reluctantly called "Lord" in Romans 10:9, with the footnote, *Not Jehovah*, but in verse 13 they insert "Jehovah", completely out of context - it's about JESUS - MESSIAH, and yes, our Lord.
Romans 10:13 - Greek: everyone for who likely might call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.
nwt: For everyone who calls on the name of Jehovah will be saved.
They do the same thing at Acts 2:21 which cites the same Isaiah reference and is still about Jesus = Messiah.
The wt can't have Jesus being our Lord, for what follows in vss 14-15 about 'declaring good news', ie: the door-to-door "life-saving work", upsets their whole apple cart because they are not witnesses of Jesus, they preach an entirely different 'gospel'. How often I've heard those scriptures used to support the d2d work and telling people about "Jehovah"... they have it completely backwards while looking down on real Christians who "talk too much about Jesus!" But it really is ALL ABOUT JESUS!
2. The nwt's bad habit of inserting "in union with" instead of "in" in scriptures which changes the intended meaning from being IN CHRIST - examples at Galatians 5:10, Ephesians 2:6, 10, 13, 22; 3:6. "In Christ" means a personal relationship, a oneness with only him, while "in union with" sounds like many people - another call to the organisation and away from Christ.
(And aytime they insert brackets [other] or brackets and dots [... ] in any of their literature it's a warning to investigate whatever it is they're leaving out!)
