I can remember some people on here talking about this, but I can seem to find the post? Any other weird articles from the 20's?

Yes we used to have an old sister in the congregation who insisted we would all be able to fly in the new system. She read it in the magazines!

There was some pretty wild ideas by the organzation. Like lions eating grass in the new system..

The most outragous to me is the assertion made that dark skinned people would eventually turn white in the new world. Can you imagine!!!??? What a crackpot Rutherford was! If I had known that was a JW belief at one time I never would have been baptized. Sorry i don't have the link for you.

No kidding?! I can see how that would appeal to people. Since I was a little kid, always wanted to fly!
Some of those old movies from the 60's-70's depicted futuristic jet-packs and even better devices that transported without fossil fuels. I'm so disappointed that the future they speculated on is now here and... no jet-packs. And no 'better devices' either as they'd(whoever 'they' are) needs to keep us as dependant as possible, and grounded.
Flying would be cool... I'm sick of seeing roadkill...
Yes, I've heard jws speculate wildly about LOTS of things like this. Other Christians/religions try to imagine 'heaven' or their understanding of 'paradise' but I don't get the feeling that their hopes or beliefs are dictated to them in minutia, but idk.
Not everyone believed every word to be 'true' just because it was printed in the wt lit. - but one thing is true for us all: we were not allowed to speculate from our own imaginations if it differed from wt dogma - and if we did voice it, we were 'corrected'!

St George of England
They also taught that after 100 years no more children would be born so probably all the women would be turned into men and they would all live together as brothers.
You couldn't make up this twaddle.

What about the fact that women would become men? That was a new one on me when I read it on here a couple of weeks ago!
