Well since I can read the Hebrew text of the bible, I can tell you they got some parts right and some parts wrong, all english bibles are basically an intepretation of the source text. They all have some parts that are well translated and some parts that would make your head spin..lol there is no such thing as a perfect english translation of the Hebrew bible...all you have is someone else's understanding of the text. Part of the reason is that there are Hebrew words that have many shades of Meanings and alot of translator's don't giude themselves by the context of the text but rather by there religious agenda.

Benjamin Wilson's Diaglott had been part of the Bible Students references since the Russell days, and the Kingdom Interlinear is presented in a very similar way, almost an identical format as the Diaglott. My guess is that Fred Franz produced the Kingdom Interlinear pretty much on his own as he worked on the NT of the NWT. The OT, though was a different matter. The Bible Students did not ever have a Hebrew interlinear. In fact there are not a lot of them out there. I have one, (Jay Green ed.) and honestly it is not really helpful to a non-Hebrew reading student. It reads from right to left for one thing, and is really difficult to follow.
I concur that the possibility of the WT of producing a Hebrew interlinear is virtually zero.

Julia got it right, why have a NT Hebrew interlinear when they spend most of their time quoting from OT so they can continue to press the cong that their under the Mosaic law.

Well, I would have thought that the Watchtower Society ALWAYS likes to be seen observing the concept of 'being pressed for time' because the end is permanently "near". But no, as others have answered, transliterations of the so-called Christian Greek Scriptures have been more commonly available anyway - kind of like garden-variety scholarship where every reader can have a stab at matching translations verse-by-verse. The downside for the Society, though, is it makes oozingly clear how arbitrary "final" decisions are by authors - transliterations are a welcome doorway into the view that Scripture is about as closely inspired by God as Tolkein's The Hobbitt is.

It is interesting that they would take on such a long term project (among many others) with so little time left. I mean, the new system is basically here. It's right upon us. There is virtually no time left until the big A.

The New World Translation is one of some ten different Bible versions and translations I own. I still find it useful and like the Kingdom Interlinear Translation as well. Every different Bible gives me some insights on the Scriptures, and in that regard the New World Translation has given me food for thought. I don’t view it as superlative or flawless, and inserting the divine name into the text is a gross aberration and an inexcusable corruption of the text. But it is not the first translation to insert the divine name in the New Testament. Benjamin Wilson did the same with his Emphatic Diaglott back in 1864; and there were others who did likewise in the seventeenth century. Still, its renderings have helped me in some ways grasp the intent of the writers.

The interlinear is good for showing JW's what the bible says about.......after Jesus death, when there was an earthquake. The graves were opened. People rose up and went into town. Jw teach the earthquake opened the graves and scattered dead bodies. I had them sooo flustered they had to
immediately call an elder. Yes, right at my kitchen table they pulled out their cell phone. Too funny, I loved it. I wonder what they think when I know more about what they believe than they do ?
