"She was thrilled that I've left JWs"
Wow. Countries are different. A doctor saying something like that over here, would end up on the front pages of the newspapers the next day and have his/her career cut VERY short.

Wow. Countries are different. A doctor saying something like that over here, would end up on the front pages of the newspapers the next day and have his/her career cut VERY short.
Which country is that? Even if I went to the media in Australia about my doctor's opinion, they wouldn't even care. It's a huge non-event. She didn't know much about JWs, but when I told her they're against career and education and self enrichment, and that Jehovah's going to kill all non JWs, she had this look like, "Now I know why you've been seeing me about depression and anxiety for years..." and so she said she was so glad I got out of it.
We now sometimes drink a bottle of wine each!
I take it this means you've actually cut down on alcohol.
There were so many JWs including CO's that needed to get high on booze (like J F Rutherford), probably to numb the cognitive dissonance caused by the 'mind cleansing(TM)'.
I hope you are happy.
Because you have left Jehovah's organisation who taught you that Jesus is stunt double Michael and the angel of the abyss in charge of the locusts AKA 144,000 mentally disturbed individuals except for Octopope at Bethel who came out of the pits of hell and rejected the faithful and discreet slave who were appointed in 33 A.D. uhhh... 1919 A.D., he is going to have to kill you.
Congratulations on your progress!!!
Good times sounding great, Julia! It's so wonderful to realize that the time in your life belongs to you and you have every right to use it the way you want to.
It just popped into mind this morning how great it is to only have work and family things to do, and no meetings and silly made-up problems to worry about down at the KH.
I never could figure out how on earth people coped with house chores, jobs, kids, AND the f.s., AND the meetings, AND the other obligations they volunteered for.
One way they coped was to let their laundry pile up into mountains, let their yards turn into jungles, let all their personal matters go unattended. Then talk about the "stress from this system" - it's idiotic.
How can you be so happy? Isn't your life supposed to fall apart when you exit Jehovahland?
Glad you guys are doing so well.
JO: We sleep in every Saturday morning and have breakfast forever!
You CAN have breakfast forever on Saturdays on Earth!
congratz! you guys sound awesome!

Just so, Julia and husband, Just so!
I can't say that I had bad experiences as a JW, and I genuinely thought of myself as happy, but as it became evident that the Bible did not present reality ... well, it all came crashing down.
Now, through the studies I've been able to undertake, I think I have a genuinely fulfilling life.
Congratulations to you both.
