I talked to my 83 year old pioneer mother over the weekend and she said she's going
Pioneer School for 2 weeks starting today in Lynnwood, WA. Is that how long they usually are?
I can't imagine what they could possibly talk about for 2 long weeks!!! Anyone else have any
info on "pioneer school"?
Always was. That is probably a large part of the rest of the poor dear's life.
My husband & daughter both went. It is 2 weeks of intensive studying, there is also some going out in the field door to door activity. They even have you study at night for the next day.
This is just another "privelege" they give the pioneers so they feel like one of the elite members of the organization.
I think this is the third time my mom has attended too! You're right is probably more of a social thing
than anything else for her.
I hear its a lot of work an studying but how else do you so completely indoctrinate someone.
You get a pioneer book and study it over the two weeks.
The 2008 edition is still being handed out but needs updating to the 2010 edition.

I attended pioneer school 22 years ago. I guess they updated the book they study. It was a lot of studying. But,it may be easier now,with the CD rom. I know they have to take a lot of books with them too.
And the congregations take turns serving lunch and everything. And sometimes if the school is rather far,some stay at local Witness homes during the week.
I know I enjoyed myself there and made lots of new friends. It used to be only after your first year of pioneering. But,it seems now,pioneers are eligible to go after so many years.
If I was pioneering today,I couldn't take off work for that long to attend classes. I don't know how some do it. I guess they have to take vacation days if they work.
