The thing that would really stop it would be if a Native American site of huge archaeological importance was found smack in the middle.

Mr Freesr, I agree, the impact on the workers would likely be a positive one because they eat up the persecution. It engregizes the faithful JW.

It is always controversial whether to stop JWs from their behaviour. Protests, a JW is taught to resist protestors. Letting a JW feel the full brunt of being a sucker because they threw hard earned money to a bunch of crazy leaders sometimes is the best wake up call they can get.

Was it Gamaliel who reportedly said "leave them alone"? JWs are truly inconsequential to society.
The issue is that they can have a huge impact on an individual or on one's family if anyone in your family is involved in the religion. Thus it become an individual challenge or personal issue and there is not much support in our society in general to counter any negative effects one personally feels.
But sometimes it's hard to protect people from themselves.

They were going to build on the property they purchased at Ramapo-but could not get tax free status. If something DOES disrupt Warwick, they will find another place to build. I wonder though, if down the line, they plan to sell Wallkill Bethel and the WEC and just use Warwick.
