I have been to the fish ladders. That water is coming from the Columbia Ice Fields here in Canada, a spectacular sight in themselves. Last summer I travelled the Columbia Ice Field Parkway three times. The ice is swiftly melting, so if you want to witness the sight, you better hurry.
See that itsy bitsy river waaaay down there at the foot of the mountains? That's your river.
next time you're there put a message in a bottle, toss it in and I will watch for it to come by!
I used to love to sit by the Columbia and watch it traveling down the banks of the river. I wrote poetry when I sat there. Nothing good, but it inspired me to think beautiful thoughts, even if on paper they weren't so gorgeous:)
I miss the Columbia. My home now is the Gulf Coast. I am near some other, not so impressive rivers-still lovely, but the Columbia-it's something else!
