I remember hearing a few years ago that the elders were looking at installing cameras outside pointing toward door and buzzer all to be operated at music desk.

They wanted to be able to have someone push a button from outside where and have a light blink at sound desk so he could see thpeppers on and buzz them into the building. As far as going outside once in, they wanted to have a Ms or elder be at the exit door to make sure no one could come in after someone had just exited.

He said that they have had some threats locally and wanted to secure the building.

Never did install it that I know of.

It should be pretty easy to blind one of those cameras these days. Can you tote a Fenix TK70 or TK75 flashlight, or the O-Light SR90? One of those lights should be bright enough to shine right into the camera, blinding it. And while the camera is blinded, any apostates can show up and do whatever they would have done before the camera was installed. Of course, doing that in an attempt to do something illegal will only get you in trouble and waste your time (camera or none, the police have detective tools plus you make the apostates look blatantly bad in doing so). Rather, you would do this with a view of defeating whatever surveillance system they have so they have extra work monitoring boasting session attendance.

I confirmed the story myself by visiting the Hall this weekend. Sure enough. The computer screen was divided into nine views - six of them showing live views of areas both outside and inside. I thought it strange that a camera was in place in the elders room.

This hall is in a medium sized town - not in the inner city. No fences, gates or security bars.

The camera system was installed at the same time the required digital projector was put up on the ceiling in front of the stage. An uncle of mine was so excited about the projector. "It's arrived just in time for the new arrangement for the annual meeting" he said. Then he says something that really creeped us out....'We'll soon be using that projector a lot. The branch has talks scheduled that we will tie into for live video - we will all be watching the Governing Body speak to all the Kingdom Halls at the same time.'

I think he was doing his best to impress us. Maybe it was his subtle way to encourage us to start attending more often (like old times)...little does he know.

My old kingdom hall has had them for years! My hubby sometimes used to be on 'security', which was a desk at the front of the hall just by the door, with a computer showing all these camera views. There's one on the speaker, so the dude on security can see the talk, and ones around all sides of the building, and at the front gate too, which can be opened and closed remotely by the guy on security.

If the world is getting safer whilst you continue to preach sermons on how evil the world is getting, take a short cut to decieving your flock and have bars put on your windows! Better still, brick up your windows and install CCTV!

Makes the Jws perception of the outsides seems to match what they are being told Blythe WTBTS.

We must protect ourselves from the wicked evil ones as these times get more desperate.

Yes...at the old KHall where I attended, we have several cameras, but not on the inside...we did this because we have folks who would vandalize the vehicles while the brothers were in FS. We eventually caught the individual. Peace Kool Jo
