Nice article there CEDARS. I love the simple logic used with regards to debunking their claim that the preaching work is somehow "accelerating" with 1.9% growth last year.

That type of "accelerating growth" would put most companies out of business. . . But not jehovah's organization!

The word 'entice' is very loaded. I remember my former best friend accussed me of tempting him to sin. Why? Because I emailed him back when I was DFed. I was "tempting" him to communicate with me. Therefore, this sort of cult thinking makes people into the Tempter, demons in human form.

A good read, cedars. The paragraph about how 'the preaching work is accelerating' is, in reality, decelerating was particularly amusing. (Maybe they mean it in the same sense as tidal acceleration?)

I thought the expressions " ordered to ignore any negative reports ..." and " Witnesses are merely left with instructions to listen to the media when it has nice things to say ..." were a bit strong, though. 'Persuaded' or 'taught to listen/not listen,' perhaps, but not 'ordered' and 'left with instructions to.' Just MHO.

    "personal speculations"

This is the domain of WT leadership. They hate competition.

Rational minds within the Org. have long since died and been posthumously marginalized:

"The endeavor to compel all men to think alike on all subjects, culminated in the great apostasy; The union of the early church, based upon the simple gospel and bound only by love, gave place to the bondage of the Church of Rome a slavery of God's children, from the degradation of which multitudes are still weak and suffering" -Zion's Watch Tower 1893 Sep p.264

Not that CT Russell was always 'rational', but at least he wasn't a paranoid tyrant childishly bent on crucifying anyone having the audacity to hold a different opinion.
