That face looks pretty angelic to me.
To me the basic story of superman is a retelling of Jesus` story. A special man gets sent by his Father to earth. He reaches a certain age and gets told who he really is. Then he discovers his powers and mission and so on. He always tells the truth and so on.
well--with a username like yours --Seraphim--i guess you must be clued in with all the head office goings on
More like the service desk.
I always find the attempts at paralleling Kal-El to Jesus a bit amusing. The origins of Superman are rooted in the wish fullfilment fantasies of two Jewish kids from Cleveland, Ohio. I don't really believe they were creating a Christ tale. I think a better case could be made in comparing Supes to Moses (baby put in a container to save its life, discovered by some Goyim and raised as one of their own, but once grown, becomes a hero and liberator). The Jesus stuff got real heavy in the 70's movie version, but if Supes is supposed to be Jesus, he's a pretty Republican version of him.
You mean " SUPERJEW " right?! According to the new Man of Steel movie he is a messiah figure. There is a scene where he floats out of a spaceship in the crucifixion pose, and Jor-El ( EL being GOD ) says to Kal- EL ( SuperJew )," You can save them." It's confusing. Captain Schmideo makes some good points. Then again, Christians believe that Moses prefigured Jesus.
uh, superman is fiction . . . but, then so is the bible.
Not all of it.
