In the Spanish website EXTJ one forum user shows evidence that on the 18th and 19th of September in Chile the government calls to honor the Nation displaying the National flag everywhere. Yeah! Right on - and for me an old issue. I became a witness somewhere in the early 1950s (getting vague these days, and I'm dammed if I'm going to look it up). Aussie patriotism, and the salute the flag issue, still ran high.
You've never known fear until you've been attacked by an old lady with an umbrella in the local picture theatre, for failing to stand for the national anthem (God Save the Queen, in those days).
Then came the WTS's films, The New World Society in Action and (forget the other one). And one of these films (or, maybe both) showed scenes of Yankee Stadium Assemblies, and on many of the tents (probably hired) American flags were flying.
Holy crap - I nearly got stumbled !!!! Truly!! - (wish I had been).
I asked a brother in the old Strathfield Bethel, and the answer was that flying the flag was OK, saluting the flag as an act of worship was not OK.
Forget the OT character that was used to illustrate the point, anyway, he was a non-Israelite, in a prominent position (maybe commanding general or something) and one of his duties was to accompany his King to their pagan temple and help the elderly King to bow down to an idol.
So there you have it, why its OK to fly - but not salute the flag. - Yahweh always leaves his scent markers in history. OK! I swallowed it then.
Would I swallow it now? Well, I consider its an irrelevant issue as I no longer give a flying f-*-*-k about Yahweh, his myth surrounded son, or any other similar sh*t.
Do you know how widespread this is in kingdom halls in Chile? If it does turn out to not be widespread, will you still lambast the Watchtower? Placing the flag in the inside window as opposed to outside on a flag pole, does appear to be on the sneaky side.

That just can't be real. It must of been photoshopped. Is there any way of been able to authenticate the pic. Someone (well from an organisational point of view) must be playing a bad joke. I don't believe this until I see further proof.
