Well, it's Wednesday of the Annual Meeting Week. Most JW's in English congregations just know they get out of the mid-week meetings but gotta suffer for several hours this coming Saturday, as nice weather is escaping into Autumn.

The new light doesn't actually change anything. The GB have been running the organisation without any input from the wider "anointed" community since as long as there has been a GB. The new light simply acknowledges and formalises the system of control that has been in place for decades anyway.

I disagree. Previously the authority has been credited to a nebulous body known as the F&DS even if that was a ruse.

As of now they have names. I suspect the 7 of them will become better known by the rank and file. Perhaps the new arrangement for the AGM is part of that process.
