Do jws complain more than normal people?

They are more prone to complain when they should do something about it. Instead of finding a job, they pious-sneer while griping about not having enough to pay the bills. Usually they blame poor Satan for creating the system that traps them in debt while it is in fact the bankers and scumbags that create our medical system, using every system to drain our money without creating any value (and blaming Satan). Instead of taking a few days off when sick, they go out in field circus and complain that they don't feel like being out there. Instead of dumping their squiggly things and buying LED lights, they whine about high electricity bills (mine went down noticeably when I pulled my squiggly things and installed LED lights in their place). Instead of buying expensive and sturdy flashlights, lanterns, headlamps, batteries, and chargers, they complain (and blame Satan) when they are stuck in pitch dark when the lights go out.

Yes, complain when there is legitimately nothing you can do about a situation or when the Rockefellers, Rothschilds, and the political-correctness situation collude to enslave you. But, when it is a simple matter of not listening to a bunch of old fogeys and doing what is common sense, try to fix the problems yourself within your reasonable means even if it is "unscriptural". Sometimes taking a job that forces you to miss boasting sessions means actual financial security, or at least past when everyone else in your congregation is destitute. Often, a "showy display of one's means of life" means safety (such as getting a DiNotte rear flasher for night riding on your bicycle, or a Fenix HP20 headlight for working where blackouts are a fact of life). Or, simply taking a day off from field circus so you don't develop medical conditions before it's time.

    Hi,

They are depressed folks trying to deliver the Good News. If you sound depressed they love it...if you are happy, you are a suspect. Again, I think most of them were that way before they ever became witnesses. Do you see just one of the common denominators ? They go out in service just to create a medical problem, so they can complain, then make excuses why they didn't show up for field service...

A couple of requirements to be a witness:

Smart enough to listen but not smart enough to think, complain, humble yet rude, overly sensitive...&&&& the big one...Tattle Tale....you have to be a certain type of person that likes to see folks Disfellowshipped, or aka: get their come up'ins...because they never think it'll be them....

I know there are many other common denominators..if you know some....let us know...

Yes... and some like to mooch off the wealthier dubs (after complaining about being poor)... they feel the wealthier dubs owe them...

DeWanderlaar, I think you encapsulated the whole jw attitude to life right there. We've all experienced it from both sides now, and yeah, the wt constantly taught us that everything is a drag.

Unhappy people complain more than happy people.

I don't think the 'happiest people on earth' are all that happy.

But plenty of other unhappy people complain a lot too. I think it is more about being unhappy.

    Peace,

    tammy

Good point. Happy people have the same adversity, but it's a matter of attitude.

Zeb : Yes, they don't know how to budget. I now toooonss of them in my cong, with redicoulous amount of credit card debt

Julia : Yes.. totally agree with what you say.. They always have that whine sound like : " poor me.. we only have one car

and we can't afford to fix or buy another one" "poor me I live paycheck to paycheck "

I think sometimes they are envy on my actitud. They have seen me smiling even in difficult times or not complaining about it.

And then when you leave the cult it's like, "things aren't so bad. We're getting by ok..." and they're like, WTF?

I told an elder who called me on the weekend, "We're happier than we've ever been, our relationships are better than they've ever been, and we're doing well financially. We must be doing something right [for Jehovah to bless us like this] even though we haven't been to meetings..."

    Tumbleweed blew through the room...

I can relate this to children of parents.

With lovingly father and mother, we as a kid will "complain" just to gain attraction, we will cry out loud, for instance, we will be kidding with our parents.

As we grow older, we put all the burden to ourselves. We are the one to take care of ourselves, independently.

With lovingly Heavenly Father, even we as adult feel likewise to our dear parents during our childhood. We will do what the JWs do as if God is hearing our complaints.
