Hopefully some will realize the deception for what it is. As children see their older parents with no pension or savings struggle to survive, they'll realize the crap for what is really is and bail.

I can honestly say that it didn't used to be this way. They rightly took pride in never soliciting funds.

I hope they get even bolder about it. It will make more older JWs wake up.

I remember doing that when I was the 'accounts servant'. The WTBTS would get hundreds of dollars each month and our poor congregation had trouble paying back the WT mortgage and by the time I was leaving, was on the line for yet another WT mortgage to pay for renovations ($250k, for that you could rebuild an entire building around here). The last 6-10 months I was putting the WTBTS money in the local congregation accounts and vice versa. The 'publisher' I was training must have noticed but he went along with it, in a few months the entire congregation started putting more in the local accounts than the WTBTS.
