MASTERPIECE.
I've seen it twice.
This is immersive filmmaking at its finest.
At first, we the audience are exterior to the unfolding events. Gradually, we are pulled inside the character's helmet intimately scrutinizing her face.
Finally, the view turns and we ARE the protagonist looking out through the visor of the helmet. It is happening TO US!
I have a fear of heights. What this film did to me was better than any rollercoaster ever built!
I feared for my life.
The drama, suspense, terror and sense of empathy and triumph are about as deeply felt as a movie can evoke.
About 2 people out of a hundred won't be able to see this in 3-D for various reasons. I really feel for them.
This is the most incredible use of three dimensions since LIFE OF PI.
If you usually don't like 3-D or prefer 2-D for any reason other than medical condition--I urge you to give this a try as 3-D on the biggest screen you can find.
