Why do they call it an Annual General Meeting when it is nothing like one?

An AGM is held every year to elect the board of directors and inform their members of previous and future activities. I've never seen such a collection of outrageous dresses than what I see at the assemblies.

I'm thinking the teenage girls have trouble finding something age-appropriate. It's often some sort of bohemian skirt thing, mid-calf. Exotic stockings, ankle-breaker shoes.
Jake has illustrated the "on the prowl" look of the eligible sisters with it all going on. I notice some young married women keep this look going.
Many senior women are in a polyester suit set. Practical, durable, inexpensive. You don't see this much any more outside of the Witnesses.

Jake, those bottom pictures look like they were taken from Miami congregations I've visited. The "rules" sure are different in Florida, for JW dress :)

Jgnat, my circuit had quite a few mothers that kept that look going, at every single meeting.

Yes, I'm guilty of being thrilled for ANY excuse to dress up that the cult could provide. The problem is that when I was young I dressed like a fashionable woman in her 40's or 50's. Brainwashed to think Young=bad old=good. Stupid
