Anyone else had something similar said to them when they questioned the WT? Does anyone have any really good knockout replies?

What good is being fed...when you are being fed garbage?

I think that's really strange, what a nut! If I wanted to encourage you to "mend your ways", I would be a little more tactful than that!
Them:
"I feel you should remember where you got the truth first, who was the one feeding you to where you are now."
Me:
“Brother [John Doe] helped me in my search for truth, and my craving for truth has not diminished since then. Do you think it should?”
Or:
“I decided to search for what is true, so my search for truth started with me. Over the years I have learned truths from many people, some of them Jehovah’s Witnesses. Should I deny what is true based on who helps me find it?”
Or:
“Learning truth begins at birth. The first truth I learned was the necessity to fulfill hunger pains. My mother taught me how. Fortunately my search for truth did not end there. Eventually I learned it was okay to search for truth beyond my mother, because truth is not the sole possession of one person. I seek truth from anywhere I can find it. Should I turn down something that is true because I don’t care for the messenger?”

Just remind them that the Pharisees probably said this very thing to Jesus, his Apostles and his disciples.
I might say, 'i got big truths from ray franz and alan feuerbacher. I still remember that. Do you want me to follow them?? Why should i? They are only men, after all.
Ohh!! You mean the wt, in new york. Give me a minute. I'm trying to think of some truths which they taught me. I'm sure there are some. It will just take me a few minutes to think of them.'

How 'bout: What is truth?
FT
I've had people say this to me as well.
It is the height of arrogance for this organization to claim they did anything because according to scripture all credit should go to God and if they did do anything right, should they not have done "what they ought to have done?"
It is ironic that they always want the thank you's and the high fives and the pats on the back for what good they feel they have accomplished. Yet they beg off from accepting any responsibility for the hardship they have caused by bad policy and the reproach they have brought due to the errors they have made.
This reasoning they use is so stupid. It is like a man who beats his wife and then tells her she shouldn't leave because he pays the bills and buys her nice things.
