paradise is only a pipe dream blib in that 13.6 billion time frame and counting.
The old way was that the millenium did not see the full accomplishment of God's plan. There is another battle after the millenium is over and then the faithful people get to eat of the symbolic tree of life.
design: I hear you,
the Loesch way is NOT the old way.
the Fresh Loesch light is that the end of the thousand year will be the full accomplishment of god's will.
may be the gb/fads does nod like any more testing since they have themselvs declared the winners of the prize BEFORE Armageddon.
This remark may indicate the mindset of Br. Loesch and others, holding that
the paradise for the Great crowd, and rule for the 1000 years of the HOLY ONES (144 000) or their remnant GB/FADS now, is all that matters, dismissing the importance of any text that conflicts with their cheriched picture.
The text to which the speaker remarks were in contradiction, namely
Rev. 20:7, that puts the final and important test PAST the millenium into the FUTURE, also contains this:
"--four corners of the earth---they [the rebels] encirled the camp of the HOLY ONES, but fire --
in JWs minds "holy ones" , "chosen ones" could not possibly be on the earth and
it is clear sailing once "we" are past Armageddon. so:
dont you dare to be obsessed with little words like "AFTER" vs "AT" , "Holy Ones" vs "O.S." and stop arguing about our teaching.!
The end of the millinium will be in 3001. Not that it makes any difference.
Considering a speaker who repeated the phrase "one hundred thousand million angels!" about 7 times in a recent public talk at the Kingdom Hall we visited... I don't put much stock in the numbers the dubs use. I don't think they are very good at math.
I don't think anything they say is accidental. Everything is well scripted and thought out.
The 'millenium' would fit in with their ongoing attempts to reinvent themselves from an apocalyptic sect to a more mainstream, long-haul religion.
Their trick as so many times past is to allow people to believe they are saying one thing which fits with their old teachings while gradually changing them and all the time having nothing concrete that people can point back to and pin on them.
As some point millenium will give way to 'indeterminite period of time' during which millions of believers will live and die. Yeah, more millions than already have.
right, and joking about it, to focus on them rather on substance.
It shows they are not taking their doctrines seriously any more, useful only to weed out dissenters. but
they are proving Jesus words in Acts 1:7 to be true: "-- it does not belong to you* to understand Time(s) and seasons---"
* spoken to the future members of the GB and the FADS of 1919 vintage.
