I know my granddaughter's birthday. It is one day after mine.
Did You Ever Wonder What Goes Thru People's Heads When They Realized You Were A Witness?

When the WT Madness took hold of me, people I knew must have thought that I had taken complete leave of my senses.
Interestingly, though, when I re-contacted these same people 40-something years later, they were still quite happy to have me as a friend:
- just like nothing had changed.
All I can say is that they could teach the JWs a thing or two about forgiveness!

Looking back, I never really was a pigeon-toed dub. People see you better sometimes better than you see yourself...

A lot of people were surprised that I was a Witness in the 1960 and 70's because they all JWs were black! lol

OMG, I was asked to speak to a large crowd about my experience as a JW. As I was talking, I became like a 3rd person listening to my story. Then, I thought to myself, "These people must think I'm a nutcase." So, I finished up and alot of people came to talk with me after. They said they thought I was a survivor and a strong person. That made me feel better.

I shudder to think of how I must have come across to people sometimes. There are three dubs I work with right now who have no idea of my fading status. I observe their behaviour and feel so ashamed.

II never acted weird when I had to tell someone or they found out as it was just a fact of my life. I never preached at people at work and everyone thought I was a nice person and tried not to offend my beliefs at Xmas time and that. I didn't get offended even if they gave me an Easter egg or something cuz they were being nice, and it wasn't offensive anyway.

I wasn't a born in, so people knew me before I became a JW.
My friends that knew me before told me later after I left the cult,
we figured you smoked to much grass in Vietnam or you couldn't deal with
your experiences from Nam. We chalk it up that you went nuts.
